Fine-tuning the pH value with acids and lyes
The water, which is taken mostly from rivers, cannot be fed untreated into the turbine circulation. It must first run through a series of filter systems, ionisers and tricklers. The pH value also has to be correct to avoid chemical reactions and deposits in the pipeline systems of the high and low pressure areas. To reach the desired pH value through neutralization, soda lye (NaOH) or hydrochloric acid (HCL) is added to the water.
Level measurement of hydrochloric acid with VEGAPULS 63
Like a knight in shining armor, the completely TFM-PTFE-coated VEGAPULS 63 can withstand any aggressive substance that confronts it. Acids and lyes can do it no harm whatsoever. With flange sizes from DN 50, it fits on any storage vessel in the feed water treatment process. It doesn’t matter whether the vessel is made of synthetic material or rubber lined. And in case there is no opening available in plastic tanks, the sensor can even measure right through the vessel top.
Overfill protection with the PFA-coated VEGASWING 63
The PFA-coated VEGASWING 63 can defy any chemical attack. Its incorruptible and reproducible millimetre-exact switching point safeguards reliably against overfilling. Because the recurring test acc. to WHG can be carried out with a simple keystroke, the sensor also increases the profitability of the plant. Moreover, VEGASWING 63 fulfils safety requirements up to SIL 2 (with redundancy up to SIL 3).
